Writing Prompts Day 26

Day 26 of the daily prompts:

Bite

The bite should never have happened. But it had been a full moon and everything, and she had felt her jaw glench open and then snap shut. It had felt so good to bite into the flesh and hold on tight.

Now there was the aftermath, and it wasn’t only the blood and the flesh in her mouth that caused her regret. It was the full-grown human body that lay on her naked feet. She would have to get rid of it, and fast. The sun was already sneaking up, and the first joggers of the day would arrive.

Knight and Dragon

Good god, the dragon thought. The foolish man would get himself killed, and for what? For the annoying winny little thing that was strapped on a pole in front of it.

The dragon hadn’t asked for the princess. Nor had it asked for the knight. Actually, it wanted them both to go away and leave it alone. But humans have funny ideas. They always had. Dangerous, funny ideas, though. Enough of its kind had already fallen for those ideas.

Dad

The garden was impeccable. He had been working on it for the whole morning, and now the weeds were gone and the soil turned. The summer flowers could be on their way. This was what retirement should look like.

He had lain on the couch for the first two years, but then he finally realized that he had all the time in the world and all the resources to become a gardener, as he had dreamed of doing since he was a little boy.

There was nothing like the feeling of seeing the work of his own hands and sharing the joy with others. Tomorrow, his grandkids would come, and all was set for them to play outside.

He was happiest as he had ever been.

The Prompts are from the book: A Year of Creative Writing Prompts.

It was nice to give my father a happy alternative future with the last piece. I miss him so much and I wish he would have had a better life than what he got. He deserved as much.

I haven’t been able to write for a couple of days now. I got an answer from Scrivener, but I haven’t had the time to go through it with my husband and see if we can fix the issue, so I’m not afraid to open the writing app.

I try my best today.

By the way, it has been so nice that so many of you have read these prompts and liked them. Thank you so much! Have a beautiful day!
