Writing Prompts Day 27

Day 27 of the daily prompts:

Flesh

The flesh was attached to her teeth. She ripped off a tree branch and picked out the remnants of the adventure she had eaten. She hoped they would shower before they hit the caves and found her. Or at least, would rub some garlic on.

She had to get out of the cave systems. The repetitiveness of the adventures, guarding the treasure, and the dampness were starting to get to her after a century being locked down here. It was just the damn treasure. Every time she got near the cave entrance, it pulled her back. It needed her to stay here and guard it. She had tried to melt it, break it, destroy it in any way inhumanly possible, but it was indestructible. So here she was, eating yet another adventure and not to her liking.

Angel and Demon

“Hey, sweet thing,” the demon said, luring the dark side of her human host out.

“Don’t listen to the moron. You are better than that,” the angel said.

Both of them knew the human didn’t hear them. They had been battling over her soul for weeks now. Neither one of them was able to leave before the girl would make up her mind. The whole situation was thought to be impossible. No angel and demon could exist in the same place. But there had been a mishap and both of them had been sucked inside the girl.

“How about trying to use an original insult? Or do you have any original ideas in that celestial body of yours?”

“Har, har. Who’s the original here now?”

“At least they didn’t give you any grace.”

The angel crossed their arms and glowered at the demon.

“Don’t sulk. It’s so unattractive in an angel,” the demon said, giving the angel a sullen look.

The angel rolled their eyes.

Strange Girl

The clock had turned well past midnight, and the train was empty except for the little girl sitting alone on the bench next to the doors and the man who had been eying her.

The Prompts are from the book: A Year of Creative Writing Prompts.

I always run out of juice with the last prompt. I can imagine the scene in my head and how it rolls, but getting it out with words is a struggle. I’m not sure why. Maybe there can be only so many novel thoughts in my head simultaneously?

I’m having a slump writing-wise. I finished my sci-fi book, and I feel like I still should work on the other sci-fi book or the fifth installment of my Glorious Mishaps series. I can’t seem to decide what to write and what to do at all. Also, the Scrivener issue isn’t yet fixed. So I’m afraid I will lose even what I write here and now.

The upcoming weekend may clarify my thoughts.

Thank you so much for reading! Have a magical day!
