Writing Prompts Day 28

Day 28 of the daily prompts:

Full

The full stomach made a growling noise as I got up from the table. I felt my face get red, and feared that everyone was looking at me. I quickly glanced around, and thank God, there were no eyes on me.

I took a quick exit out of the kitchen, breathing heavily in the hallway. Why did the human body have to make noises? I could feel the heat spreading on my face again. Maybe it was just me, who had a loud stomach, whose chewing echoed in the room, and whose breathing was like a gush of wind.

Attention

“You look fine, girl.” The man catcalled the woman passing him by.

She kept her eyes in front of her and said nothing.

“Can’t you hear me, girl?” the man continued on.

She said nothing.

“Bitch,” the man shouted after her.

I can’t seem to bother this one. I keep searching for distractions and excuses that I don’t have to write about two men wanting attention from the same woman. And it shows, I went with the cliche and now I’m snarling to myself.

Businessman

His tail whipped against the chair leg, letting out loud hissing sounds. Inside his mind he was screaming at his business partner, who the fuck you think you are. All that came out were the hisses and the loud meows.

His business partner scooped him in her lap and smiled at her. “Now, now, Mr. Davis, you should behave, or I will do far more than turn you into a cat.” She petted him, and he realized that he was purring loudly.

“See, if you just let your instincts take over, you are not so bad. Maybe I should have turned you into a cat long ago.” The woman smiled.

The Prompts are from the book: A Year of Creative Writing Prompts.

I’m so cold and distracted this morning. I should have a day off, but my stupid work has this team bonding day and I’m forced to go. I’m not that great with teams, especially work-related. Two or three people are the maximum, and even then, it can get noisy, crowded, and I’m forced to engage in silly human interaction. I kind of like people. Climbing people and writing people, but not work people. They are work people, you know.

It seems like it would be better if I crawled back to bed. I vote for that.

Thank you so much for reading! Have a magical day!
