Bush
My mind is drawing a blank on what to do with this one.
Wild West
A story set in the Wild West with a cowboy who cannot shoot and a woman who doesn’t want to be a love interest. As I read this, I kept picturing Muse’s Knights of Cydonia. Still, even though I found the whole thing exciting, I used all my energy with Will and skipped this one.
Will
The world beyond the bunkers was a desperate place. The hollow, simple buildings rose high, spreading far and wide against the horizon. The electric lights and the neon-colored billboards cut the darkness in half, making everything glow in straight light.
Her monarch held her tight, not letting her fall. He had come for her. And here, seeing the world for the first time for real, she understood why he had come. This was no place for humans. This was an experiment, a cage, a giant factory.
She could feel the aching hearts bleeding into her. All the dead hopes. All the madness festering inside the hearts and minds of men. The factory, the city owned them.
He wanted her to fight, to free his people of this torment that her powers had helped to create. She would do her best, but there were other cells like the bunker she had been in, and they would have to find and destroy them all until the city, the people could be free.
The prompts are from the book A Year of Creative Writing Prompts.
I loved writing the Will story. It is a continuum of yesterday’s prompt. My mind is stuck there, and I want to see what will happen. Why is the monarch a monarch, and why can the girl dream of the future in a cyberpunk world?
I had a good writing day despite not being able to write the two other prompts. I could further my book, and it is done after this round of edits. I have edited the book longer than I expected. I was supposed to publish it in December, and it’s already April. Time has escaped me. It does that.
Thank you for reading ❤ Have a day of thoughts and dreams! Let’s escape the factory city.
