Love
You are made from my bones; carved to my shape; soul matching soul. You were the one who made the world a home to be. As long as you were by my side, there was a place to return. I was your safety, your love.
My fingers slide down your bony back, feeling how life hollows out in the end. I wish there were magic in the age of science and facts. That there was a way to believe that one day we will meet again, that we are never lost.
I walk through the kitchen, hearing your soft paws follow me around. I feel you brushing against my leg, and I lower down to let the air touch my finger.
In my mind, you are born again and again, never lost to this world. Science and facts have no match for us and the bond we created.

Being part of someone’s life for so long, being entwined together, leaves a heavy sigh and pressure like no other. I wish I could get my cat back. We were made from the same bones; a connection was instantly created when we saw each other. For fifteen years and eleven months, our lives were bound. It feels so odd. He was a cat, but it still feels like losing a soulmate.
I couldn’t write the assignment today. What I got was a voice-driven sci-fi story about rebirth written in the first person. I initially thought of writing a story mimicking Frankenstein, but I couldn’t. My heart wasn’t in it.
Thank you for reading! Have a day of heart, and see you tomorrow. Hopefully, then I’ll have a proper short story for you ❤
